Who we are
Arabic Language Association of Ceylon
ALAC is a company limited by guarantee, incorporated in Sri Lanka under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007, established to promote the learning, teaching and advancement of the Arabic language and its literature. As a non-profit body, all income and property of the Association are applied solely towards the promotion of these objects — no portion is distributed to members as profit.

What we are established to do
Arabic language courses for job seekers
Providing Arabic language courses for job seekers seeking employment in Arabic-speaking countries.
Learning & research infrastructure
To set up, own, operate and maintain research centres, centres of learning, reading rooms, hostels, boarding houses, computer literacy centres, data processing centres and information centres, and to utilise electronic, mechanical or other developed techniques for the advancement of learning and knowledge of Arabic literature.
Publication of Arabic literature
To provide publication of Arabic literature and Arabic language course materials to students, for the advancement of knowledge and literacy.
Collection, translation & publishing
To collect, classify, translate, print, publish, issue, edit, import and circulate religious books, brochures, pamphlets, journals, magazines, periodicals, articles and audio-visual materials, and to promote lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences, and encourage educational research connected with the Arabic language.
Note: In accordance with its Articles of Association, the Company does not engage in primary or secondary educational activities.
